With over 35 years of experience in practicing law and litigation, Van Scott, a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, was raised by hardworking parents deeply entrenched in entrepreneurship. From running restaurants and bakeries to producing classic jazz albums, his upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic and business acumen.

After attending DeAndreis High School on an academic and athletic scholarship, Scott pursued his bachelor's degree in Psychology at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. Following graduation, he embarked on a successful corporate career, initially as a reinsurance underwriter in the insurance industry and later as a marketing executive at AT&T.

Driven by his desire for further academic and professional growth, Scott pursued his Juris Doctorate Degree at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There, he distinguished himself in Moot Court competitions and earned recognition from the Louisiana Foundation for Law & Society. Admitted to the State Bar of Louisiana in 1988 and later to the State Bar of Georgia in 1992, Scott's legal career spans various jurisdictions, including Georgia, Texas, and Louisiana.

Known for his exceptional negotiation skills and expertise in diverse areas of law, including business law, contract law, employment law, personal injury/insurance law, banking, and immigration law, Scott has earned the respect of his peers as a lawyer of integrity and persuasiveness both in and out of the courtroom.

Scott has represented clients across a wide spectrum, from small corporations to major corporations, insurance companies, and financial institutions, with notable cases ranging from securing significant contracts to obtaining default judgments. Farva Jafri, a seasoned litigator with extensive nationwide experience, currently oversees the operations of two specialized finance enterprises. One of her ventures focuses on pre-settlement legal funding, while the other specializes in SSD advocacy. Beyond her financial endeavors, Jafri serves on the boards of multiple businesses across diverse sectors.

FARVA JAFRI

Previously, Farva Jafri served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Signal Financial Holdings and Signal Funding, holding various roles within the Signal organization. Prior to her tenure at Signal, she contributed her expertise as an associate at 777 Partners.

Before her involvement with Signal, Jafri led the content team at Apervita, a technology startup supported by Pritzker Capital and GE Ventures. During her time there, she pioneered the creation of the world’s first two-sided marketplace for health data and analytics, leveraging her extensive network of physicians and research scientists. Jafri also initiated a regulatory conference that brought together prominent figures such as former senators, healthcare executives, and government officials to discuss the landscape of health informatics.

During her academic pursuits at the University of Illinois, Farva Jafri established a non-profit organization called ICON. Under her leadership, ICON was integrated into the curricula of 17 partner universities worldwide. What began with fifteen consultants under Jafri's guidance blossomed into a fully-funded organization boasting nearly 1,000 administrators and consultants.

Farva Jafri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also earned a Juris Doctor degree from UIUC’s College of Law.
